Again I have never felt so seen on such a deep personal level, it’s like your writing from my soul!

What a great approach that could truly benefit my perspective on what I’m trying to achieve! I feel like I naturally do this (especially when fall comes around when I feel internal shifts will be coming and I’m turning a new leaf) but I’ve never thought about taking this mindset and stretching it over multiple seasons. It gives some level of comfort when it comes down to wanting to change things up after some time and helps the perfectionist in me still have that structure while enjoying the freedom of change!

Ahhh thank you Marisha! That means a lot:) And exactly! I typically re-evaluate and reset according to the seasons, but I had never thought to apply it to my actual offerings. As a fellow perfectionist and multifaceted person, I hope this provides some helpful insights!

Change is the only constant - and bringing this expectation into our professional lives allows for growth into areas we may not originally have set out or planned for. I love the approach you outlined in this article 💙

I completely agree Lauren! Yet I feel like we can carry so much shame or guilt around "change" in relation to our careers. But you're exactly right, once we adopt this mindset, it can only lead to growth:) Thanks for reading!

I think the portfolio life is such an attractive one for the ex-founders (like you and me!). All the entrepreneurial parts of running a business without the stress of being a founder of a big one. Win win!

Exactly! Love that aspect of the portfolio life.

I think this is such a brilliant strategy that also really allows for a much needed shift in perspective around pivoting and experimenting, not only for Manifesting Generators who have been shamed for their quick zig zagging, but also for anyone who struggles with perfectionism and worthiness tied to work. (Personally I’m loving watching your experimentation and documentation, and also feel a sense of freedom in this seasonal structure that allows for both change and consistency within a precise container! It’s very calming to my sometimes anxious and perfectionist brain)

Thank you Bria!! You know you’ve been such a guide for me and all my pivoting ways😜 And you’re exactly right, it’s not only for pivoting, but also perfectionism! Which I think so many of us struggle with, especially creatives. AND for those of us who are navigating major transitions (like new babies!) it gives us some flexibility to plan around our capacity.

Yeasss absolutely to all of that!

Interesting point of view. But never expect the next thing to be THE thing. It seldom is. The next thing is more likely to a baby step towards it. That's what experimentation, failure, and pivoting is all about.

I completely agree! The baby steps and experimentation are essential to meaningful growth. I guess it’s about loosening the grip on control and finding clarity throughout the process. Just getting started on that first (or next) baby step can often be the hardest, which is where this perspective initially stemmed from! Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts:)

A big yes to a seasonal approach and all of the other thoughts you've so beautifully articulated here, Maddy! I love the phrase "releasing the pressure of permanence" — I felt my whole body relax when I read it. It's so wonderful to see you sharing your voice here (and on Instagram!), and to be in the conversation with you.

I couldn’t relate more to your post, Maddie. Right now I’ve been building my product based business for about a year and a half, and I totally put the pressure on this to be THE thing. I’m so tired of pivoting. But on the other side, I feel that I only can fulfill my goals working on different things, so the seasonal offerings seem to be a great way of thinking to release this annoying feeling of being lost or starting over again while pivoting. Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for reading Raquel and sharing your experiences! I can relate so much. After pouring myself into one business after another for years, I’m definitely feeling called to diversify my projects instead of “putting all my eggs in one basket.” I know the pivoting can constantly feel like starting over, but I guess we simultaneously need to remind ourselves of all the lessons and experiences we picked up along the way, which will inevitably help us build our future projects🤍

Love this, so relatable! I especially relate loving to position another brand, but continually struggling to do it with myself. Also, finding the right words to the service as a multi-hyphenate! I am stuck in the loop of things, again on the edge to either find a mentor or couch to 'nail' it. Instead, I've been lately also experimenting with seasons, I have noticed brands in Europe very much have a way of working and planning when it comes to seasons, and I try to support, and plan with it too.

Sounds like we can relate on all the things, Auste! I'd love to hear how your experimentation with the seasons is going, and if it's working well for you. Thank you for reading!

What a lovely idea! Like your first point, I've literally made being multifaceted my whole "thing" and it feels SO much better and instead of being anxious about possible pivots I'm just excited about what the future might hold!

Love the way you’re approaching this. I, too, left tech after the birth of my second and I’m now piecing together what this next era looks like. This seasonality approach gives so much freedom and structure.

Ahh so glad we can relate on that! Entering a new era is exciting but also kind of overwhelming, and this perspective just reframed some things for me:) I hope it did for you too. Thanks for reading Cheyanne!

I love this approach! I’m also a manifesting generator and have felt “stuck” for awhile doing what I do. And I’ve tried many forms of so-called “passive income” and they work sporadically until they don’t and I get discouraged and retreat.

I like this seasonal approach. I just started a 6-month intense business course which is will be like planting seeds for next spring 😊 thanks again!

Hi Maddy! I took a HD course and one of the things I remember reading about MG's is that rather than sticking with the same thing forever, your/their work is to honor where your energy wants to go, even when it changes. MG's thrive when they feel the freedom to shift direction and reinvent themselves as they go. I feel like MG's give "eras" vibes (a la Taylor Swift, lol) rather than seasonality. The reason being, depending on your energy, you might stick with something longer than a season (or shorter)!
