Where to Shop for Gifts (and Souvenirs) in Paris
Whether you’re shopping for a thoughtful gift, or exploring Paris for unique souvenirs, these are some of my favorite local shops.
Gift guides are beginning to show up left and right, and while I wanted to create a holiday-inspired post, I also wanted it to be a year-round resource. Whether you’re shopping for a thoughtful gift, or exploring Paris for unique souvenirs, these are some of my favorite local shops. This list is just the beginning. I’m saving a few extra-special spots for future posts, but for now, consider this a wonderful starting point for gifting inspiration.
For those outside of Paris, many of these shops offer online shopping with reasonable shipping to the U.S., so you can bring a touch of French lifestyle to your home this season. I hope this guides your holiday shopping, or simply fosters your love for all things Parisian!
FOR FOOD LOVERS |
La Grande Épicerie: A massive food market across from Le Bon Marché where you can find many local specialities and food brands, including everything from chocolates to spices, teas and more.
E. Dehillerin: Most likely doesn’t need an introduction, this is every food lovers dream kitchen supply shop.
Sabre or Laguiole: Beautiful kitchen utensils always make for a perfect gift. Sabre’s bistro collection has long been on my personal wishlist. If you’re in Paris, be sure to visit the Laguiole boutique on Île Saint-Louis.
Irasshai: A Japanese épicerie and concept store. Come for Japanese snacks, cookbooks, tea/matcha accessories and more.
FOR BOOK & STATIONERY LOVERS |
Librarie7L: A beautifully curated selection of design and art books, magazines and more.
Ofr: Another art-focused bookshop and gallery.
Galignani: Grab a book from the oldest English bookshop in Europe.
Mélodies Graphiques: A personal favorite stationery shop with handmade paper, notebooks, stamps and more.
FOR DESIGN & ART LOVERS |
Flea Markets: Paris has some amazing flea markets, like the famous one in Saint-Ouen, where you can find all sorts of small trinkets and decor items. *also great for book/stationery finds
Sennelier: An artist’s dream for paints, pastels, papers and more.
Antoinette Poisson: Stop by their atelier/shop in the 11th for unique prints, textiles, or my personal favorite item: their personalized journals.
Studio Racines: For locally-crafted, small batch ceramic pieces.
Astier de Villatte: A multifaceted Parisian brand, encompassing a ceramics workshop, publishing house, perfumery and more. You’re bound to find something you’ll love here.
FOR FRAGRANCE LOVERS |
Kerzon: I have several fragrances from Kerzon that I love, including their Parisian-inspired scents, like “Places des Vosges” and “Parc des Buttes-Chaumont.”
Diptyque Saint Germain: While you can easily purchase Diptyque in many areas, their original boutique on Saint-Germain is a must-visit. Purchase the city-exclusive Paris candle for a quintessential souvenir or gift.
Officine Universelle Buly: Regardless of their increasing popularity and “trendiness,” I still had to include Buly in this list as the quality of their products, and especially the personalization and calligraphy service, makes it an irresistible stop for gifts and souvenirs.
Nose: A beauty concept store where you can discover a diverse selection of perfumes, candles and more.
FOR A VARIETY OF THINGS |
Landline: A thoughtfully curated “general supply store” where you can find home goods, stationery, kids toys and more.
Merci: Another address that most likely doesn’t need an introduction. This famous concept store houses gift (and souvenir) options for everyone in your life.
Marin Montagut: Tasteful, Parisian-inspired trinkets, from hand-painted glasses, to candles, and much more.
Messy Nessy’s Cabinet: Just near to Notre-Dame, you will find this fun shop filled with gifts and other Parisian curiosities.
